"When I became the University's Vice-Chancellor in 2003, it was and remains a great privilege for me to lead a University with such a long and outstanding international reputation for excellence in teaching, research and enterprise. The University of Reading is in the global listing (Times) of the World's Top 200 universities. Its unusually broad portfolio covers the arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences. Situated in a beautiful unspoiled 130 acre parkland campus in the Thames Valley - one of the most dynamic, economies in Europe - it is not surprising that Reading is consistently one of the most popular higher education choices in the UK."
- Professor Gordon Marshall, Vice-Chancellor the University of Reading
