Life at Typography

Set amidst 300 acres of landscaped grounds, the University boasts one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK. In addition to its many fine buildings, including the new Carrington Building for Student Services, our Whiteknights site features the first class Wolfenden Sports Centre (SportsPark), cafes and restaurants, Reading Film Theatre, banking access and the very popular Students' Union (RUSU) with its own shops, bars and '3sixty' nightclub.

Reading town lies at the heart of the Thames Valley. Set by the banks of the river, it is home to many bars, cafes and restaurants. The town centre is a short walk or bus ride from the University and it is where you will find the Oracle – one of the newest and largest shopping centres in the south of England. Reading offers a full spectrum of entertainment from pop to opera, comedy to serious theatre, cinemas and museums, and the celebrated Reading Rock Festival.

From Reading, places like Oxford, Windsor, Henley and Twickenham are within easy reach, and the south coast is only an hour away. The centre of London is 25 minutes by train, and many of our students take regular advantage of design-related lectures and exhibitions there, along with other cultural and social events.

The University of Reading is also committed to student health and welfare. Our provisions range from counselling and chaplaincy services to family, language, study and disability support.
