As well as our academic programmes, we offer a number of opportunities for professionals looking to develop their knowledge of typography, typeface design, archives and design practice.

We often collaborate with special interest groups and museums on our events. Organisations we've worked with in the past include the V&A, the Bodleian Library in Oxford, and the Museum of Printing in Lyon.

Type Design intensive (TDi)

Our two-week TDi summer course offers an intensive dive into research and the practice of designing for global scripts.

The course is aimed at experienced designers and typographers, educators, researchers, engineers and developers. It combines hands-on learning with unique archival material, as well as practical masterclasses with experts in a range of scripts.

Bringing together the unparalleled expertise and resources of the Department of Typography, the course offers an exceptional learning experience with transformative research feedback.
