 Energy Reduction Solutions in Food Supermarkets


The aim of the project was to find solutions to reduce energy consumption within food supermarkets. Three areas have been identified that contribute significantly to energy consumption in stores and these are:

1. Uncontrolled ventilation at entrance/ exit doors and how to minimise it.

2. Heat waste from refrigeration systems and how to recycle it for use in the store; and

3. Natural lighting and how integrate it with artificial lighting systems.
