Projects

The Friends offer grants to enable the University to fund projects that are outside its core activities of teaching and research.

In recent years The Friends have supported improvements to the environment, externally through landscape planting and internally by purchasing commissioned art for the public areas of buildings. They have also helped improve public access to the University's work by providing safe display facilities for valuable artifacts, and viewing facilities at the University's archaeological and farming sites. They have purchased music stands for public concerts and contributed to the development of sports facilities.

There are now few parts of the University without evidence of support by The Friends. Major landmarks of the past include the cloisters at London Road and the Whiteknights Lake footbridge.
