Blackboard
What is Blackboard and how will I use it?
Blackboard is a virtual learning environment (VLE). Put simply, it is an electronic tool that we use at Reading to support teaching and learning.
Blackboard is often used to host module, course, School and University information. Your lecturers are likely to use Blackboard to house lecture notes and many also use it for assessment purposes.
Accessing Blackboard
As soon as you have enrolled online and received your university username and password you should be able to log-in to Blackboard. It is well worth having a look around as soon as possible - just to familiarise yourself with the interface. You should at least be able to see the core modules of your degree programme. Return to Blackboard frequently as new courses and modules are added on an ongoing basis.
Training and help
Blackboard is very intuitive to use and you should have few, if any, difficulties. You may find the Blackboard Help Pages and the Blackboard FAQ pages useful for getting started.
