Taster days (Arts and Humanities)

The outreach team will be running a number of taster days and events in areas relating to Arts and the Humanities. Upcoming events include:

  • BA Accounting and Business (PwC Flying Start Programme) taster day
  • Modern Foreign Languages preview day

BA Accounting and Business taster day

Venue: University of Reading, Henley Business School, Whiteknights Campus

Date: Thursday 2 November

The accounting and business team at Henley Business School will open their doors to prospective students who would like to find out more about this exciting degree. A series of interactive workshops will introduce students to principals of tax and accounting, and all sessions will be delivered by academic staff from the accounting and business subject area team.  PwC staff will also be available during the day to answer questions on the degree and how to apply to it, and there will be opportunities to meet students studying the course.

How to apply:

We welcome applications from all students who are studying for A-level (or equivalent) qualifications. Student must be predicted AAB -ABB at A Level and GCSE Maths at grade A and GCSE English at grade B. The taster day is free of charge but students are expected to fund their own travel to and from the University. However, the University of Reading is committed to ensuring that its outreach programmes are accessible for all. We offer a Travel Bursary that prospective students may apply for, and if successful would cover the entire cost of their travel. Please complete the Travel Bursary form and submit it with your application.

Year 12/13 Modern Languages University Preview Day (French and beginners Italian)

Venue: Whiteknights Campus

Date:  Thursday 2nd November 2017 Through interactive workshops and talks led by members of the Modern Languages department, we'll be exploring how and why European languages borrow from each other, studying French language and giving you a taster learning Italian from beginners. Current students will be on hand to answer your questions about language leaning at university and give you a tour of our beautiful campus.
