  • Semester 1: August (end) - December
  • Semester 2: January - May

NB - successful applicants will be expected to complete an additional Rutgers application.

  • Visa is required to study in the US
  • Will need to take out compulsory insurance - either from CSU or alternative (see insurance section in money matters page).

  • Students must be nominated by the Erasmus & Study Abroad Office before Rutgers will consider any application.
  • Students who request to study abroad for a full academic year when their degree has a term / semester option available will receive a lower priority for places than students who choose the term / semester option.  
  • If there are more students who want to study at Rutgers than there are places available then all of the following information will be taken into consideration in making decisions regarding the allocation of places:
    1. Academic performance
    2. Personal Statement
    3. Spread of subjects
    4. Subject Study Abroad coordinator comments
    5. Duration of Study Abroad placement
    6. Previous engagement / contact with ESAO
