An experience you cannot compare to anything else

If all you can think about Sweden is IKEA and shopping at H&M you are partially right... but I can tell you there is so much more than that! Did you know that before a proper toast you need to make exactly 12 moves in a very strict order? Ystuprof-abaranowskauppsalaou will know that after joining one of the 13 student nations and attend an introductory gask (which is an equivalent of an official black-tie event with an amazing 3 course meal).

Every day in Sweden brings new experiences - and trust me, this is not just a cliche! Going to sauna at least once a week, cooking your very own meatballs or baking cinnamon buns and fika (learn that word - Swedes are all about drinking coffee). I was able to see breathtaking Northern Lights in Kiruna and Abisko, take a proper arctic swim after sauna in a frozen lake and survive cold up to -38 degrees. Together with my international friends we went on several cruises to Tallinn, Riga and Helsinki, we hiked to one of the highest fjords in Norway and we have been to Stockholm, Gothenburg or Malmo countless of times.

Living in a foreign country is an experience you cannot compare to anything else and you will love it! I realised soon - boring people do not go for an exchange programme. There is always something going on - parties at the student nations, Walpurgis Night, international event, studying (in between :-), learning a foreign language (if you want), meeting people from different parts of the world.

I know it is not an easy decision to make - leaving your family and friends for a year, but it is so worth it. At every stage there are people who are willing to help you and they will guide you in case of any doubts. You may find some of the teaching methods different to those in England, but that is just another experience you may be looking for! I do not regret a single day here, the time has been truly amazing and allowed me to take a fresh perspective on some many level. I got so much into Sweden that I am coming back just after my graduation.

So are you ready to have the time of your life? Pack your bags and enjoy!
