One of the best experiences of my life!

Choosing to study abroad in Australia has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have been able to make the most of the fantastic facilities and opportunities that Monash (and Australia in general) has to offer, both academically and socially. The academic work and structure is very different to that of Reading, and though it was challenging at times, I feel so much more prepared for my final year at Reading than I would have without my time at Monash. I was offered theGrampians National Park – Victoria opportunity to do modules that I would never have been able to do at Reading - namely the 'Australian Idol' module, which was a fantastic way to learn about the politics, culture and landscape of Australia. This module also held field trips to the Australian Outback, countless museums, as well as experiencing an Aussie Rules (AFL) football game! I also lived on campus, which was a great way to meet loads of both Australian and other international students.

One of my favourite aspects of my semester in Australia was the travel opportunities it offered me. Living so close to Melbourne, one of the most culturally diverse and interesting cities in the world, meant there was always something new to do and a new place to see. Australia is a huge country, and there are so many places to go - my favourite was road tripping the Great Ocean Road and Grampians National Park. Once my semester was over, I was lucky enough to travel around Fiji, New Zealand and South East Asia, both independently and with other international students that I had met during my semester at Monash.

Thanks to my semester at Monash, I have become stronger both academically and socially, as well as met some wonderful people from all over the world. I will never forget my time abroad, and it was hands down one of the best experiences of my life!
