Tuition fees
Students do not pay tuition fees to the host institution if studying at a University of Reading partner institution for which there is a valid exchange agreement in place.
Students on an Erasmus exchange programme:
- Eligible undergraduate home-fee students studying abroad for a whole academic year in 2012/13 via the ERASMUS programme may receive an ERASMUS fee waiver and therefore do not pay the tuition fee for that academic year (details regarding the ERASMUS fee waiver for 2013/14 onwards have not been confirmed by the National Agency)
- If your period of study abroad is less than an academic year (e.g. a term) you will be required to pay 100% of the regular tuition fee to the University of Reading
- Full international fee paying students studying abroad in 2012/13 for a full acadermic year will be charged 20% of your tuition fee during the year abroad. (to be confirmed)
- Full international fee paying students studying abroad for less than an academic year (e.g. a term) will be required to pay 100% of the regular tuition fee.
Students studying outside the EU:
- Students studying abroad in 2012/13 for a full academic year will be charged 20% of your tuition fee during the year abroad (to be confirmed)
- Students studying abroad for less than an academic year (e.g. a term) will be required to pay 100% of the regular tuition fee to the University of Reading
Additional Fees
Please note that it is possible that some institutions may levy additional small charges (not covered by the tuition fee waiver) e.g. Art, Lab based science subject etc. This should be comparable to what you would expect to study at the University of Reading. Your host institution will advise you of any additional small charges which are to be levied at the time of application.
Some US institutions may inpose a small application charge. Students will be fully briefed about this at the time of selection of institutions.
Participants on any study abroad programme should expect to pay for services which they would normally expect to pay for at Reading e.g. housing deposits, JCR (or equivalent) fees etc
