Reading can be your base to explore as well as learn.

High-speed rail links with London (30 minutes by train) make it quick, easy and Campus centreaffordable for students to take advantage of all that London has to offer, and there are regular rail services to all major cities around the UK. London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airports are easily accessible as well.

Also many of the UK's other major tourist destinations (Oxford, 'Downton Abbey', Windsor Castle, Hampton Court, Stonehenge) are all within easy reach.

University campus

Our main campus is set in 130 hectares of beautiful parkland, so you'll find plenty of places to relax during the day. The campus has won seven consecutive Green Flag awards, recognising it as one of Britain's top green spaces.

The campus is a thriving community and features the Students' Union, library, places to eat and one the UK's best student clubs. You'll have everything you need right on your doorstep

Town

Reading has a proud history of welcoming people from across the globe, and international students often comment on the warm atmosphere and multicultural vibe found here.

Whether you are a sports fan, love a good comedy club or just want a night out with friends, Reading has something for you.

There's great shopping at the Oracle, plenty of green spaces to relax in and a huge range of cuisine from around the world.

Reading is packed with a range of pubs, bars and clubs, so you can have a drink with your friends, watch an open mic night or hit the dance floor.

Reading Festival is one of the best known music festivals in the UK, with over 87,000 fans flocking to see some of the biggest names in music.

You can also experience the thrill of a live football or rugby match at the Madejski Stadium​, which is close to the town centre. The venue, which seats over 24,000 people, is home to Reading FC and London Irish Rugby Club.

Students Union

RUSU is an independent body ran by students, for students, providing facilities, entertainment and opportunities.

There are currently over 150 societies and sports clubs you can join, covering all sorts of interests. including the Erasmus Society and International Society who put on numerous events and trips.

3sixty is one of the best Student Union venues in the country and is certainly the largest venue in Reading. With a capacity of over 2000, 3sixty hosts a wide variety of events day and night and to suit all tastes.

RUSU offers a free and confidential advice service to all students.
