Studying abroad at the University of Reading has been an opportunity of a lifetime!

I first discovered Reading when my university back in the states (University of Rhode Island) introduced me to the direct exchange agreement they have with the UnJacob Plattiversity of Reading. Before then, I had never heard of Reading, so I did some research, and I am so glad I chose to come here. Settling into the life at Reading was a lot easier than I expected. It is a very easy place to get around, and everyone was helpful that it was an easy adjustment to make. What I enjoy most about Reading is their campus. It is a beautiful campus with plenty of great places to eat and just enjoy yourself. There is always something to do at Reading, which makes it easy to meet new people.

My highlight of my time abroad has definitely been the traveling around Europe. It has been unbelievable. I have travelled to Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Norway, and the Netherlands. I have learned so much just from experiencing the different cultures around Europe. What I miss most about my home country is spending time with my friends and family. I know it is a cliché answer, but seeing them is what I am looking forward to most when I get home. At first, I was a little hesitant about studying abroad. It is a long time to be away from home and it can be a difficult adjustment to make. But, studying at the University of Reading has been an opportunity of a lifetime. I highly recommend it to anyone who has this opportunity. It is a decision I am sure they will not regret.
