Life at Systems Engineering
Systems Engineering at Reading is unique – we have the more traditional computer science and electronic degrees, the modern practical information technology degree, artificial Intelligence, robotics and the multi-disciplinary cybernetics degree. We typically admit over 200 students to our numerous specific subjects and joint subject degrees, which have been designed with flexibility to change between a number of related degrees. Students here encounter friendly staff with a variety of interests.
You will encounter well equipped modern laboratories, with computers, robots, embedded systems, and control and electronic equipment. Those with their own computers can remotely access many of the computing resources we have.
Prospective students interested in Systems Engineering can visit us on the University open days where we have a variety of practical demonstrations of our subjects, and staff and students are available to answer questions. All applicants who are offered a place are invited to special Visit Days where you get the chance to meet with members of academic staff. You can also visit the University and do a campus tour, however if you wish to speak to someone in the School during such a tour, please book first so we can guarantee there is someone available.
