Life at the School of Systems Engineering
Systems Engineering offers a variety of MSc degrees across its disciplines and we are planning a few more. Some of these MSc degrees comprise week long modules, and so are particularly suitable to be taken part-time whilst the student is working. Other MSc degrees are more like and in fact are integrated with our MEng degrees. We also offer an EU Mundus MSc where the student's course takes place at Reading and two other European Universities.
All MScs include both a taught component, for which there are a number of modules from which you can choose: each degree has a course advisor who can help you throughout the course, but in particular to decide on which modules are most appropriate for you. You will also be welcome to discuss matters with the academics responsible with the teaching.
In addition a significant part of the degree is a research project, the topic for which you can choose in discussion with relevant academic staff. As our staff are allied with our research groups, please look at the Research pages to see the likely topic areas.
Lectures take place in modern lecture theatres with appropriate audio-visual equipment and these are backed up by some assignment work using our state-of-the art laboratories.
