Introduction
Currently group Chair for Electronic Engineering and Senior Lecturer in Consumer Electronics. I arrived in the department of Electronic Engineering in 1996 and have had had a 16 month gap working for Panasonic Wireless design as Principal DSP Engineer.
Research
My research area is Consumer Electronics, and in particularly the following issues:
- Equalisation (cable, wireless and broadcast)
- Digital Communications layer 1 and associated DSP issues
- Adaptive signal processing
- DSP architectures

- IEEE Chester Sall Award for 1st place paper in IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics 2004

- IEEE Region 8 (Europe an Africa) Diploma award for the UKRI Consumer Electronics Chapter (which I chaired) (presented in Paris April 2005)
