Introduction

Joined the School of Systems Engineering in 2003 as well maintaining a part-time independent consultancy. Active interests: Goal-Oriented Requirements Engineering; Enterprise Architecture Modelling, IT Service Management; Soft Systems Methodology, Software Quality and Testing; and Project Management. PhD thesis on "goal oriented appraisal of soft projects (GRASP)”.

Background

In 1976 entered the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) as a research fellow developing ultrasonic and electromagnetic methods of non-destructive testing (NDT). Then served as an executive director of a specialist software development company and led business diversification into NDT and healthcare. Subsequently joined BMC Software as development manager for UK following a small company acquisition. Have also provided consultancy to a number of healthcare and venture capital invested small and medium companies in requirements analysis, agile methods in product development and software testing.
