Study abroad and learn a language

Studying abroad and learning a foreign language are both great ways for you to broaden your horizons and immerse yourself in a different culture.

Study abroad

Studying abroad is natural fit for students of Politics and International Relations, given the intrinsically international nature of all our courses. We investigate key international issues of our day, such as the nature of international terrorism, the opportunities and problems created by globalization, and the challenge of climate change.

We look at politics within countries across the globe, with particular expertise in Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Even when our focus is on British politics, we compare what happens here with what happens elsewhere in order to deepen our understanding.

Through our campus in Malaysia and close partnerships with universities in North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia, you can spend a term during the second year studying abroad. The Department of Politics has a dedicated study abroad coordinator (Dr. Andreas Behnke) who can help you find the ideal study abroad option to suit your interests.
