Beyond Caxton: The John & Griselda Lewis Printing Collection

lewisexhibboardThe John and Griselda Lewis Printing Collection consists of over 20,000 examples of printed ephemera, incorporating pages from the early years of printing, as well as handcrafted greetings cards, exhibition catalogues, public notices, theatre playbills, political pamphlets and domestic advertisements.

Tlewisexhibcasehis display features a sample of documents from this diverse and fascinating collection, as well as an insight into the work of John Lewis, often credited as a pioneer in the study of printed ephemera. Diverse samples of the collection from c.15th-20th centuries will be on display.
