Papers of Richard Rado

Richard Rado (1906-1989) was Professor of Pure Mathematics at the University of Reading from 1947 to 1971. He is noted for research in aspects of combinatorics, including abstract independent structures, transversal theory and extensions of Ramsay's theorem.

The collection includes correspondence 1925-1936, research records 1927-1933, mathematical notebooks and diaries kept throughout his career, extensive records of publications, lectures and conferences, and documents relating to organisations such as the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications, the London Mathematical Society and the Mathematical Association.
