Letters of Arthur Mee

Arthur Mee (1875-1943) was a journalist and editor who created The Children's Encyclopaedia and The Children's Newspaper.

The collection chiefly consists of around 700 letters by  Mee to his contributor John Derry (1854-1937), covering the period 1905-1936. The letters relate to work that Derry produced for Mee publications, and also show Mee's thoughts and plans for forthcoming books and serials. There are also letters to Derry from other members of Mee's staff.
