Hale White Collection

William Hale White (1831-1913), who wrote as Mark Rutherford, was a novelist, a prolific contributor to newspapers, and the author of many works of literary criticism.

The collection contains about 40 printed items largely by, or about, Hale White. There are also some letters and typescripts.

The collection was formed by Simon Nowell Smith.
