Didcot Parish Library

The collection consists of nine service books deposited by All Saints Church, Didcot, in November 1980, all pre-1901. They include a fine copy of The Book of Common Prayer, William Pickering (1844), and the 'Vinegar Bible' (Oxford, 1717). This printing is known as the 'Vinegar Bible' because in the Gospel of John 2:1-11, which reports the miracle that took place at the wedding at Cana, the word 'wine' was misprinted as 'vinegar'.
