Cowie Collection

A collection of nineteenth- and twentieth-century books, pamphlets and journals on embroidery, needlework, lace-making and related crafts, collected by Valda Cowie. The collection contains around 300 items.

• Most of the items are not yet catalogued, but there is a rough handlist available which accompanies the collection.
• This collection is housed in an off-site store, and any requests to consult items should therefore be made well in advance.
• Journals in the collection include Embroidery: the journal of the Embroiderer's Guild, n.s.1-33, 1950-82.
