Postgraduate Bursaries

Two competitive postgraduate bursaries are available for seminar attendees. The competition for bursaries is open to the following applicants:

  1. The applicant must be a full-time postgraduate student (UK and overseas)

  2. The applicant must have a paper accepted for presentation at the BAAL/Cambridge University Press Seminar on Language and Identity.

  3. The applicant will be expected to contribute to any publication resulting from the seminar.

  4. The applicant must not be eligible for financial assistance from other funding bodies (e.g. AHRB, ESRC, applicant's University).

The bursaries will cover the cost of the following:

  1. Seminar registration fee (incl. lunch and tea/coffee on both days).

  2. Contribution towards the cost of travel: a maximum of £60 if travelling from UK location; a maximum of £100 if travelling from non-UK location.

To be considered for a postgraduate bursary, complete the form below and return to the address at the bottom of the form before 1st June 2004, but not before receiving notification of the acceptance of your paper.
