Postgraduate Research Opportunities
Postgraduate Study
We are seeking to recruit graduate students to undertake postgraduate research under the over-arching theme of "People and their environments: understanding their past, present and future."
Research in the School analyses the interaction of human and physical environments across a range of temporal and spatial scales, encompassing the natural, built and social worlds. Rates and causes of change in environmental and natural earth systems are studied through the application of rigorous scientific methods, complemented by the interpretation of human perception, experience and agency.
We aim to further our understanding of past, contemporary and potential future human communities and natural systems, and to guide policy in sustainable development, governance and conservation for the future. This cross-cutting research theme links the expertise of staff and students in our traditional research groups to allow us to address some of the most pressing problems facing society today.
Research studentships
We frequently have studentships available. These will be advertised on FindaPhD.com and our research degree web pages.
We are interested in hearing from students with their own ideas for research topics.
Suitably qualified applicants, with a First Class or Upper Second Class BSc(Hons) or BA(Hons) degree in social, physical or environmental science disciplines should contact Elizabeth Wyeth.
