Centre for Advanced Microscopy (CfAM)
The Centre for Advanced Microscopy provides state of the art microscopy facilities for research, diagnostics and analysis in biological, medical and physical sciences and engineering. These advanced microscopes enable scientists, engineers and technologists to reveal details of structures at the atomic level through the nano scale regime up to the macroscopic level. In parallel such instrumentation maps the elemental composition and selected properties. The Centre facilities are available together with specialist services to external institutions and commercial organisations.
Quaternary Scientific (QUEST)
Quaternary Scientific (QUEST) is a commercial enterprise within the School of Human and Environmental Sciences which provides a range of technical services for business and industry. The School undertakes a wide range of research and teaching in archaeology, geography, geoscience, soil and environmental science. In doing so it draws on an extensive range of analytical equipment, laboratory facilities and technical expertise of which we are justifiably proud, and which has earned us a reputation for teaching and research excellence, especially in the areas of archaeological science and environmental pollution.
