Jobshop

How to find campus based and part time work opportunities

The Job Shop is dedicated to helping Reading students find part time and vacation work. It advertises student friendly positions from around campus and with local businesses. There is a wide range of part time work on offer with jobs in tutoring, translation, data processing, admin, shop, bar and restaurant work.

Hundreds of local employers advertise their part time and temporary jobs with us and new jobs are posted up every day. Please use your TARGET Connect profile to find opportunities. Recently added opportunities are included below.

The Careers Centre also runs a weekly Student Employment drop in clinic every Wednesday afternoon in the Carrington Building between 2.00-3.00pm offering one-to-one advice to students looking for part time work.

How do students benefit from part time work?

Not only do you have the opportunity to earn extra cash but you will develop valuable skills and experience which you can draw upon when it comes to making graduate job applications.

A part time role will help you to build confidence, make useful employer contacts and could even lead to a permanent job offer.
