Graduation day

The University of Reading wishes to support its graduates in finding graduate level work and study. While most careers support is provided whilst studying at Reading, following graduation a number of services are still available. These are:

  • You can attend recruitment events on campus - both fairs and employer presentations. New graduates and those a year out are likely to find recruitment fairs very helpful.
  • Register for our Jobs and Events notifications using our Target CONNECT website - www.reading.ac.uk/seecc/graduate/register/
  • Because the Student Employment, Experience & Careers Centre (SEECC) is resourced primarily to support current students we are only able to offer a limited 1-1 service to graduates. Quick Queries and career discussions are only available to current graduates (ie. those who graduated this summer) and this service is only available until 30th September. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to offer a 1 to 1 service to anyone who graduated before this summer.
  • E-guidance - this service is focused around helping you improve your CV or application form if you are applying for a specific job role and also mock interviews for those who have secured a job interview. Please note: this service is only available until the middle of December each year following graduation. Please email us via the My Queries > Ask Us a Question... option in TARGET Connect if you wish to use this service.
  • Practice assessment tests - SEECC has a licence for the SHL battery of tests; please email SEECC to request to take an assessment. We will then email the details to you. Please specify whether you wish to take the verbal, the numerical or the inductive assessments or all three - Request to take SHL assessment

Graduates from other universities

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any support for graduates from other UK universities.

Jobs

Future Track Survey

Did you apply for a full-time place at university or college through UCAS in 2005/6? If so, you are a member of the FUTURETRACK cohort. If you have already participated in this important independent survey conducted by a research team at Warwick University on behalf of the Higher Education Careers Services Unit (HECSU), you'll know that it is investigating students' progress through higher education and their experiences in the graduate labour market. The Stage 4 questionnaire is now available, and existing participants have been sent an email inviting them to fill it in, so if this means YOU, check all your email accounts! All eligible respondents who complete the survey have the chance of winning cash prizes: ten of £1,000 or one hundred of £100. If you haven't received it, or you are a 2005/06 applicant who would like to join the survey now, you can register now. Please pass on the message to all your classmates with whom you are in contact, so that we can develop as full a picture as possible about the experiences of this recession generation to inform policy and practice in higher education.

We can help you identify and research postgraduate study options. We recommend Prospects to find out the latest available courses. But do talk to an adviser for more help.
