Service Standard for Employers
The following is a statement of the standards of service that employers can expect from the University of Reading Student Employment, Experience and Careers Centre. There are also obligations on employers using the Service and these are also detailed below.
What we offer
Presentations
- Provide suitable rooms for presentations within the limitations imposed by the University
- Provide audio/visual equipment as requested within the limitations imposed by the University
- Operate a booking system for attendees
- Notify the company 48 hours before the event of numbers attending
- Publicise the presentation using appropriate media
Interviews
- Provide suitable rooms for interviews within the limitations imposed by the University
- Organisation of audio visual equipment, catering and car parking as required
Recruitment Literature
- Undertake to hold information on employers and their vacancies on file
- Update the relevant files within five working days in receipt of new information
- Maintain files in good condition
Autumn and Summer Careers Fair
- Provide appropriate venue within limitations imposed by the University
- Provide good quality refreshments
- Publicise the event using appropriate media
- Provide support in the form of runners, telephone, fax and photocopy facilities
Additional Services
- Create web links to appropriate companies on request
- Publish vacancies on the Student Employment, Experience and Careers Centre website
- Respond to requests for information on the University's courses, students and our services
The Student Employment, Experience and Careers Centre expects employers to
- Provide their own flip chart paper, acetates, pens etc
- Inform the Student Employment, Experience and Careers Centre at least 48 hours in advance if the presentation is to be cancelled
- Inform the Student Employment, Experience and Careers Centre at least 48 hours in advance if the interview is to be cancelled
- Notify attendees of interview dates and times and to notify attendees of the outcome of the interview
- Provide appropriate recruitment literature and company information
- Ensure all literature conforms to current Equal Opportunities and Disability Discrimination legislation
Complaints and compliments procedure

- Term Time: Monday - Friday, 9.30 am to 4.30 pm
- Vacation Time: Monday - Friday, 10.00 am to 4.00 pm
