| 1. Estimation
of the time intervals represented by terrace aggregate deposits
at 1 case study locality, in terms of the duration of the
depositional events.
2. Estimation of the time intervals represented by depositional
hiatus between the occurrence of separate events at 1 case study locality.
3. Estimation of the proportion of the glacial-interglacial
cycle represented by the sedimentary sequence at 1 case study locality.
4. Estimation of the relative homogeneity and/or heterogeneity
of stone tool assemblages occurring in secondary context fluvial aggregate
deposits at 2 case study localities.
5. Characterisation of the potential of the secondary context
geoarchaeological resource for the reconstruction of early prehistoric,
riverine palaeo-environments.
6. Evaluation of the overall potential of the secondary
context archaeological resource for the reconstruction of early human
behaviour and early prehistoric landscapes.
7. Provision of generic recommendations for the future management,
protection and recording of the terrestrial aggregate resource.
8. Presentation of interpretative frameworks for the modelling
of landscape archaeology in the early prehistoric period through the secondary
context archaeological resource.
9. Provision of the project report and submission of synthesis
papers to national and international conferences and internationally refereed
journals.
