The benefit gained from making positive changes to our diet is known to be highly variable and is likely to be in large part determined by our genes. At the moment most people are given general dietary advice but could 'personalised' health and dietary advice to suit our genetic make-up be more effective? Research at the University of Reading is investigating which people respond best to which dietary strategies on the basis of their genes.
