Unit of Assessment 30: History

Research from Reading submitted into History includes work from staff within the Department of History. Research from the Department is clustered into three thematic fields. 'Political Cultures' encompasses the social and cultural dimensions of political ideas in the UK, Europe and the US from the early modern to the modern era. 'Economic and Social History' investigates economies and society from medieval England to nineteenth-century America. 'Religion, Magic and the State' groups historians examining Christianity and other belief systems and their material remains across Europe in the medieval and early modern eras.
