Unit of Assessment 10: Mathematical Sciences
Research from Reading submitted into Mathematical Sciences includes work from staff within the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. Research activity of the department is organised into several research groups with significant overlap and interaction: pure applicable and numerical analysis, statistics and applied statistics, complex fluids and theoretical polymer physics, the mathematics of human behaviour, and mathematical biology. The Department was a founding partner in the University’s Centre for Integrative Neuroscience and Neurodynamics, as well as a large partner in the NERC National Centre for Earth Observation (NCEO) and a leading partner in the Reading Systems Biology Network.
