Our courses are industry-relevant and enriched by a vibrant research environment. Our courses are structured so that you do not have to make a final decision about which degree to graduate with until towards the end of your second year. This keeps your options open until you know exactly which pathway matches your evolving interests, enabling you to find the course that’s the right fit for you without compromising your studies.

You will also have access to the latest digital technology and software, including the use of building information modelling (BIM). You can also work with a range of cutting-edge technology including Oculus Rift head-mounted displays, immersive virtual reality environments, laser scanners and 3D printers. Improving the sustainability of the built environment is another central theme that runs through all our undergraduate degree programmes.

Many of our academic staff have direct experience of working in industry, and continue to be active in consultancy, contributing to the policy agendas of the government, industry bodies and professional institutions. 96% of the School of the Built Environment’s undergraduate students in work or study 15 months after the end of their course [1].
