Accommodation Options

There are great accommodation options for students joining the Study Abroad Programme at Reading.

There are many benefits to living in halls whilst taking part in the Study Abroad Programme such as:

  • Contract lengths to suit your needs. We have full year and part-year contracts available with entry points in September 2018, January 2019 and availability later on in the year.
  • Variety of room types available to suit your budget from Premium En-suite rooms to rooms with a Shared Bathroom*
  • Catered and self-catered hall options giving you the flexibility about how and when you eat
  • Great location – all accommodation is located either on, or next to the main Whiteknights campus
  • All-inclusive rent – includes utility bills, Wi-Fi, basic contents insurance, maintenance and communal cleaning
  • Hall social committees create a sense of community within halls
  • Safe and secure with CCTV and security patrols and welfare support provided by experienced University wardens
  • 24-hour Halls Hotline for a quick response to all hall issues

*Availability of room types is dependent on demand and not all room types may be available at time of application.

Am I guaranteed accommodation?

We are unable to guarantee a room in hall for all students joining the Study Abroad Programme, but every effort will be made to offer accommodation to as many Study Abroad Programme students as possible.

The application process and how to apply

Your offer of accommodation will take into account the period of your registration on the Study Abroad Programme at Reading.

Apply in three easy steps:

  1. Once you have accepted the official offer of a place on the Study Abroad Programme, log into the accommodation portal.
  2. Select Academic Year 2021/22, Part-Year, Undergraduate, Study Abroad
  3. Select your preferences. The more preferences you select, the better we can try to match your requirements

You need to apply by 1 August if you’re planning to start your course in September and 1 December if you’re planning to start your course in January.

If you are registering for the programme for the full Academic Year (September to June) we will be able to make you an offer of accommodation once your academic offer is unconditional

If you’re coming for less than a full Academic Year you will be notified from mid-August onwards (September start) or December (January start)

You will need to pay a £250 damages deposit upon accepting your offer of accommodation. You will not be able to accept your offer of accommodation without paying the deposit.

If your institution is sponsoring you for your accommodation deposit, please contact the Accommodation Office using the details below before accepting your offer. We will need to confirm that your institution is sponsoring your deposit before you are able to accept your offer.
