Music
Music plays an important part in student life at the University of Reading. From official University groups and activities to the many music-based societies in the Students’ Union, there’s something for every taste – and ability.
Want to be part of a major ensemble that performs regular concerts? Join the University Chamber Choir, Big Band, or Festival Orchestra and Chorus, which are all led by professional conductors.
Or maybe you'd rather take part in a student-led ensemble, such as the wind band, the samba band, the flute choir or the ukulele group? With regular concerts throughout the year, you won’t be short of opportunities to play or sing, or just to listen.
Fancy improving your musical skills or taking up a new instrument? We can help arrange music tuition – and there are plenty of practice rooms.
And let’s not forget regular Live Band and Open Mic nights in the Students’ Union: you’ve got to start somewhere…
Whatever your tastes, you will find other people who love playing – and listening to – the same sounds.
