Areas of Interest

The neurobiological basis of the interaction between cognitive and affective processes. How subcortical, prefrontal and sensory cortex interact in the production and regulation of emotional behaviour. Longitudinal studies of the neural changes associated with Anxiety Disorders and Depression, specifically top-down cortical regulation of subcortical neural circuits, and the consequences of regulatory failure in terms of autonomic, behavioural and subjective outcomes.
