recent years the Polymer Science Center has hosted scientists from Brazil,
Bulgaria, Canada, China, Czechoslovakia, France, Italy, Japan, Malaysia,
Portugal, Spain and Thailand. In most cases if desired it is possible to arrange

appropriate sponsored scheme. Interested scientists should make contact since it
may be possible to put you in contact with a potential funding agency.
Postgraduate Training including the EU Marie Curie mobility programme
The Polymer Science Centre offers postgraduate training in both Polymer
Physics and Polymer Chemistry together with Polymer Science in an integrated
manner. Places for programmes of research leading to a Ph.D. are available in
all highlighted areas. Studentships for UK and EC based graduates are usually
available possibly in collaboration with an Industrial Organisation. Students
from overseas are encouraged; recent students include those from China, Egypt,
Iran, Korea, Pakistan, Portugal, Taiwan and Thailand. Training at the
Masters Level is possible through the M.Sc course in Research.
Collaboration
The Polymer Science Centre has strong interactions with both Industry and
other Research Institutes. The Centre views these collaborations in a very
positive manner and it welcomes enquiries across the broad range of its
activities. The Senior Staff Members will be pleased to discuss in detail how
the comprehensive nature of the expertise and experience at the Centre may be
used in particular areas of Polymer Science. We welcome enquiries for
collaborative research programmes and funding applications including EU
Framework 7 Proposals.
