Overview

The 24-70mm is a standard zoom lens with a constant maximum aperture of f/2.8. This is suitable for low light photography and is recommended instead of the standard lenses which come with our digital SLRs if low light photography is your intention. This lens is also our only standard zoom lens which is compatible with our EOS 30v film camera. Sigma claims that this is a macro lens however with a maximum magnification of 1:3.8 this barely deserves the “Macro” name. For macro photography the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG should be used instead.
