Overview

The 18-55mm was until recently Canon’s standard lens for their entry level cameras. This is only compatible with Canon cameras with the smaller APS-C sensors (xxxxD xxxD xxD, 7D). The lens offers a standard focal length range from 18-55mm (28-88mm effective) which is suitable for everyday photography. The 18-55mm however, is not suitable for low light use, for this consider using the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 or the Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8.
