» Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

Overview

The Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II is the cheapest and one of the most popular lenses in Canon’s range. Whilst the lens is of plastic construction it has excellent optics, which, produce sharp images with vibrant colours, this has led to it gaining the nickname of “The Plastic Fantastic”?. This lens is highly recommended to any Canon owner, especially those on a tight budget. The fixed focal length means that you have to think more about composition; thus making it a great lens to use whilst developing your skills as a photographer. The lens performs admirably in low light with its f/1.8 aperture allowing plenty of light into the camera.
