Overview

The Canon Speedlite 580EX flash is a powerful flash unit which is fully compatible with our digital EOS cameras and partly compatible with our EOS 30. The 580EX offers distinct advantages over the built in flash of the EOS cameras we have. Firstly, the flash is physically further away from the lens, this helps to reduce red-eye and helps to create more natural shadows. The Flash can be rotated and tilted so that light can be bounced from walls/ceilings, creating much more flexible lighting options. The 580EX can also be used as a master to trigger other “slave” flashes such, PhotoSoc does not own any more compatible flashed to use this feature at this time (although you may be able to borrow more flash units from other members of the committee). It is highly recommended that you read the manual before using this as there is a large range of features and functions which can be tricky to use correctly.

The flash is supplied with rechargeable AA batteries, Charger, Pouch and Diffuser.
