We have a fully equipped darkroom for members to use for an annual fee of £10 to cover the cost of chemicals (We provide all chemicals required to develop film and paper).

You don’t need any previous experience to use the darkroom, We provide training for all new darkroom users.

Developing Area

We have a number of developing tanks and spirals suitable for 35mm, 120 and 220 film, and a JOBO processor for temperature-sensitive colour processes. We also have trays for processing paper and large format film.

HC110 and Rodinal are currently provided for developing B+W film, and Ilford multigrade developer for B+W paper. We also hope to be able to provide colour negative, slide and paper chemistry in the coming year.

Enlarging Area

Our enlarging area is equipped with a universal black & white enlarger suitable for all film formats up to 6x6cm, and a 35mm colour enlarger.

Training sessions

All members are welcome to book an induction session with the darkroom manager to learn how to use the darkroom, please note this training session is required before first use of our darkroom. There is enough space for up to two trainees at a time in the darkroom. To book a session, either email us or talk to one of the committee at the next meeting.
