Exhibition Submissions

Thanks to funding from RUSU and the University’s Annual Fund, we will be able to run an exhibition (Further Information).

We are now accepting submissions of high-quality photographs from our members on the following caveats:
Large Prints: 10 Megapixel Minimum Resolution (8 Megapixel subject to ISO Rating).
Small Prints: 6 Megapixel Minimum Resolution.

Photographs can be on any subject: Portraits, Landscape, Animals, Architechture, Abstracts, Macro etc. and in any format: Colour, Black and White, etc. However, given the standard of printing (and associated cost) these need to reflect your finest work, given this, there is no restrictions as to when the photo was taken (unlike the Photobook). We aim to ensure that every member who submits a photo will have at least one displayed in the exhibition to show off the capabilities of all our current members.

Please submit the images at their full resolution rather than sending us thumbnails as we will have minimal turnaround time from submission to printing to chase up their full counterparts.

PhotoSoc Exhibition

[ Monday, 8th March 2010 09:00 to Friday, 19th March 2010 17:00. ] PhotoSoc will be putting on our first exhibition this year. This has been funded by RUSU and the University’s Annual Fund.
This will be made up of the finest work submitted by our current members, and will be professionally printed for the society.

PhotoSoc 2009/10 Competition

PhotoSoc are pleased to announce the opening of our 2009/10 Academic Year competition.
This year the categories are as follows:

Light and Dark,
Portraits,
Luxury

You can enter a maximum of three photos in total, but these may be distributed freely amongst the categories as appropriate.
Prizes will be announced closer to the date.
Deadline: Friday, Week 10, Spring Term (19/03/2009).

National Portrait Gallery Visit

[ Saturday, 16th January 2010; 09:30 to 18:00. ] We’ll be going to the national portrait gallery to see the 60s Exposed: Beatles to Bowie? exhibition. It is an exhibition of photographs based around the music of the 1960s, featuring over 150 photos of some of the biggest bands of the time.
