I want do join the UREPF what do I need to do?

 

Complete the application form and return it to Pensions in Room 103, Whiteknights House.

 

Can I pay Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs)?

  Yes AVCs may be paid by members either to buy extra pensionable service in the University Fund or to an AVC arrangement with Clerical Medical. Please contact the Pensions Office for further details.  

Can I 'contract in' to the state pension?

  No. The scheme is contracted out of the state pension scheme and as a result you pa lower National Insurance Contributions. In return the scheme has to meet certain guarantees connected with your benefits.  

Can I retire Early?

  It may be possible to retire after the age of 50 and draw your pension. See the explanatory leaflet.
