Summary module description:
This module briefly introduces theory of heat transfer, overview of building simulations and train students with skills of computer simulations
Aims:
To provide knowledge of building simulations and hands-on practice of simulation using commercial software packages such as Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES).
Assessable learning outcomes:
• Define the purpose of building simulations;
• Produce building simulation models;
• Propose scenarios which affect energy consumption;
• Perform simulations using computer software packages;
• Analyse results and propose optimum solutions
Additional outcomes:
Students should be able to work within a team and present the outcome of their work to course staff and other members of the class.
