The Museum of English Rural Life is a Family Friendly environment.

Regular family events & activities
Weekend 'make and takes'
Why not try our weekend 'make and takes'? There is a different family activity each week. Materials and instructions cost £1and there is no need to book. Drop in anytime during museum opening hours every Saturday and Sunday.
Never too young: toddler time at MERL
Fridays, 10-11am and 1-2pm, during Reading Borough Council school term time
- £2 per child (accompanying adult free)
- Drop-in (There's no need to book but arrive at 1pm to enjoy the group activities from the start)
- Suitable for families with children aged 2 to 4 years.
Come along to the Museum with your little ones and enjoy rhymes, songs and craft activities based on objects in our collection or our garden.
