Dr Oliver Sutton

Job Title:

Post-doctoral Research Assistant

Areas of Interest:

  • Numerical methods for simulating phenomena observed in Biology and Physics described by systems of partial differential equations, such as virtual element methods, finite element methods, and discontinuous Galerkin methods
  • Flexible numerical methods based on meshes containing general polygonal or polyhedral elements or exotic discrete function spaces
  • Adaptive methods, which improve their efficiency by automatically modifying their fundamental components in response to local indicators of the quality of the simulation
  • High performance implementations of these algorithms, to enable simulations of larger practical systems

Research groups / Centres:

Numerical Analysis and Computational Modelling
