Statistics packages tutorials

We have produced tutorials for staff and students at the University. These can be downloaded from a Blackboard organisation and worked through in your own time. Solutions are provided. Please note that these tutorials are only for getting started with using a statistics package, and do not provide detailed advice on which method to use in which circumstance. If you require statistical advice, please visit the Statistical Advisory Service webpages.

To access the tutorials and accompanying files, please self-enrol on the MA_STATADV Blackboard Organisation by doing the following

• Login to Blackboard.
• Click the Enrolments tab at the top of the window.
• Click Academic Departments in the Organisation Catalogue box.
• In the search box type advisory and click Go.
• The resulting list should include MA_STATADV Statistical Advisory - click the double inverted chevron to the right of this Organisation ID, and click Enrol.
• Click Submit to self-enrol.

You will then have access to the Blackboard Organisation containing the tutorials - there is a separate section for each of the following statistics packages

• Minitab
• PASW (SPSS)
• Genstat
• SAS
